
Introduced Acer Nitro 16 and Acer Nitro 17 with 13th generation Intel Core processors
Acer’s Nitro 16 and Nitro 17 notebooks were announced at CES 2023. The latest 13th generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs are part of Acer’s powerful new Nitro gaming notebook series. Four-zone RGB backlit keyboards are part of the new 16-inch and 17-inch Acer Nitro laptops.

The upgraded 16-inch WUXGA or WQXGA display on the new Nitro 16 (AN16-51) gaming laptop has a 165Hz refresh rate and supports NVIDIA Advanced Optimus technology, which allows users to dynamically switch between integrated graphics and discrete graphics without having to reboot. This laptop has a 5% larger screen than its predecessor. It has a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard, 100% sRGB color gamut compatibility and an increased screen-to-body ratio of 84% for a more pleasant viewing experience.

The Nitro 17 has a variety of display options, including an FHD display with a 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rate, and a Quad High Definition (QHD) display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It is powered by up to 13th generation Intel Core HX processors. To spice up the gaming experience, it also features a large touchpad (125.0mm x 81.6mm), 81% screen-to-body ratio and RGB 4-zone backlit keyboard.
Gamers can store more games, movies and streaming content on the new Acer Nitro Windows 11 laptops thanks to a massive 2 TB of M.2 PCIe Gen 4 storage and up to 32 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz memory. Both laptops also come with a monthly subscription to Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, which gives users access to hundreds of popular PC games.
Each model includes Killer DoubleShot Pro and features a Killer Wi-Fi 6 1650i for increased bandwidth. These laptops feature an HD camera, two microphones and two speakers with DTS:X Ultra audio to enhance the gaming and streaming experience and allow gamers to fully immerse themselves in a rich audio environment. With an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, two Thunderbolt 4 ports with power support, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, including one that supports offline charging, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

These Nitro devices feature two fans, four fan ports on the sides and rear, higher air intake and additional liquid metal thermal grease support to help with cooling for long hours of intense gaming. Each comes pre-installed with NitroSense software and a unique NitroSense key that allows users to control their systems’ temperatures and adjust fan speed and power settings to keep the hardware as cool as possible.
Price and availability
The Acer Nitro 16 (AN16-51) will go on sale in May with prices starting at $1,199.99 in North America, €1,499 in EMEA and RMB 6,599 in China.
Starting in May, the Acer Nitro 17 (AN17-51) will be available in North America for $1,199.99 and in EMEA for €1,599.
